Reflection- Creative Strand- Polynesia Wood Prints

Yellow Hat - The things I enjoyed?
The thing I enjoyed the most was carving the wood pieces and seeing all the different cultural motifs. At first I was really scared to start carving because I thought I would make a mistake, but then I got use to it.

Black Hat - Which things didn’t I like?
I didn’t like going to the mat and seeing what we had to do next. Some people already knew what to do but others didn’t and it wasted some peoples time.

Green Hat - What was something interesting about this week?
Something interesting that I learnt was how to say Samoan patterns in Samoan. It was a bit difficult to remember what they are called though.

White Hat - What did I learn?
I learnt how to carve and what kind of tool to carve with.

The Royal Baby Has Been Named

Im back with some news about the royal baby. The royal baby has finally been named, Prince George Alexander Louis. A beautiful name that suits the handsome baby. Many people think that the name George is not attractive because many kings have been already named George. Personally I think that the name George Alexander Louis is a good name.

The royal baby is third in line for the British thrown. When Prince George Alexander Louis becomes king he can choose if he wants to change his name. For example he can use one of his middle names, so he can be known as Britain's First King Alexander, or Britain's First King Louis.

This was Vivienne reporting today about Prince George Alexander Louis the royal baby.

A Report On The Royal Baby!

This just in, the royal baby was finally shown to the world this morning. The moment everyone was waiting for. Kate Middleton and Prince William walked out with the healthy baby boy in her arms.

Kate Middleton gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 4:24 pm at St Mary's Hospital. He weighs 8 pounds, 6 ounces. The crowd was waiting outside Buckingham Palace to see the golden easel, in keeping with the tradition, the birth card was displayed.

Margaret Stove knitted a beautiful white shawl that is New Zealand's gift for the royal baby.

The baby boy is third in line to the throne. They still haven't named the baby boy yet, but some think that the name Prince James or Prince George, is likely to be given. I will update you more about this amazing event. This was Vivienne reporting about the royal baby.

The Death of Cory Monteith

Cory Monteith was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on May 11 1982. When he was the age of 13 he was involved with drugs. He left school when he was 16 years old. His family and friends persuaded him to visit a drug rehabilitation and he did at the age of 19. While he was at it he started to rebuild his life.

He is famous for being an American actor, dancer as well as a singer. He has acted in many movies like Monte Carlo, Sisters & Brothers, All The Wrong Reasons and many more movies and t.v programmes. But, the one he is well known in, is Glee. He acts as the high school quarterback Finn Hudson who joins the high school singing club.

The reason why Cory Monteith is the subject that I am talking about today, is because he has been on the news recently. Sadly he past away. He died because of heroin and alcohol overdose. He was scheduled to checkout out of his hotel room at noon but didn't so the staff members of Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel were worried. They went into his room to check on him and found his body dead in his hotel room.

It is really sad to hear about this event. Many questions are going through my mind right now like What will happen to Glee? I thought that rehab would have changed his life by now? Many more questions that haven’t yet been solved. I would like to say that his past was definitely bad but his friends and family said that he really tried to overcome it. Anyway, R.I.P Cory Monteith. I hope everyone will remember you as a great man and not the man that took drugs. My prays and thoughts will be with you and your family and friends. You will never be forgotten Cory Monteith!!!

Should Pt England School Be A Single Gender School?

I think Pt England School should be a single gender school. Why? Well, firstly if it was an only girls school, girls would be more confident to speak without being made fun of. Secondly, there is less girlfriend and boyfriend problems going on. Lastly, the setting or environment is a good place for a girl to be in. Not in a room filled with distractions.

One: Girls are too scared to raise their hand up and speak with confidence without being teased about. But, with a room filled with the same gender they are more confident to speak up.

Second reason. There is less distractions like boyfriend, girlfriend problems. Also drugs, smoking, drinking and fights. Also girls can focus on their work without being bothered by any boys.

Last but not least, girls like to work in a room that is warm and bright. A room with people that won’t be a distraction. Being in a room filled with no distractions can change your learning which can change your test scores.

So having a single gender school is an awesome thing to have. I think its best to change Pt England School an only girls school.
